Wolfgang Van Halen recently expressed his dream of touring with one of rock’s most legendary bands. He shared his thoughts on A Radio Rock.
Van Halen discussed his aspirations to perform alongside AC/DC, a band that holds deep significance for both him and his father. He explained why this opportunity would mean so much to him.
“To tour with, I don’t think it would get more legendary than AC/DC,” Van Halen said. “I think that would be a dream come true because I’ve just been such a huge fan of them my whole life, and it’s an important band for my dad and me that we shared.”
He acknowledged the opportunities he’s already had. He emphasized just how special AC/DC would be.
“So yeah, AC/DC would probably be that crazy dream of a band,” he continued. “I mean, we’ve been lucky, as you said, to open up for many other bands, but AC/DC would be just another insane thing.”
While Van Halen’s passion for AC/DC is clear, the reality of such a collaboration remains uncertain. Currently, Van Halen is focused on his own musical endeavors and has built an impressive career with his band Mammoth WVH, which continues to tour independently and collaborate with other artists in the rock scene.
AC/DC is actively touring throughout 2025 with an extensive schedule, according to Ultimate Guitar. The tour includes a North American stadium tour starting in April with 13 shows. A considerable European tour in summer 2025 features 12 shows across 10 countries. A homecoming Australian tour concludes in December 2025 with 5 shows in major cities. The current AC/DC lineup features founding lead guitarist Angus Young and vocalist Brian Johnson, alongside rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, bassist Chris Chaney, and drummer Matt Laug.
As of late 2025, there is no public confirmation that Wolfgang Van Halen will join AC/DC’s touring lineup. No such collaboration has been announced as being in the works. Loudwire reported that AC/DC’s 2025 tour roster remains unchanged, with the band maintaining its established lineup for all scheduled performances across North America, Europe, and Australia.
Van Halen’s comments highlight his deep admiration for the iconic rock band. His hope to one day share the stage with them is evident. For now, his focus remains on Mammoth WVH and the various collaborative opportunities that continue to come his way in the rock music world.
