Tommy Thayer Gives His Verdict on Bruce Kulick’s Performance at KISS’ Vegas Event

KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer recently commented on Bruce Kulick’s performance with the band at their Landlocked in Vegas event in November. His remarks appeared in MusicRadar.

Thayer praised Kulick’s contribution to the special event. He also highlighted the camaraderie between the two musicians and reflected on the overall success of the Vegas show and its reception among fans.

“Bruce was great. He came out for the last two songs, and it just felt solid,” Thayer said. “We’ve always been close friends, so sharing that moment with him was a lot of fun and pretty special for everybody.”

Thayer expressed enthusiasm about the Vegas event’s impact. He also suggested the possibility of similar events in the future.

“The Vegas event was fantastic, and it really exceeded our expectations,” he continued. “You could feel that everybody was having a great time. I know the fans absolutely loved it, and I can definitely see it happening again.”

The special event marked a significant moment for KISS as the legendary rock band continues to evolve beyond its traditional touring format. Guitar World reported that Thayer emphasized KISS has retired from touring. However, the band remains active behind the scenes with new projects in development.

The KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas event took place November 14-16, 2025, at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The band performed unmasked sets for the first time since their End of the Road tour finale in December 2023. Kulick, who served as KISS’s lead guitarist from 1991 to 1996, joined the current lineup of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer for the electric performance on November 15.

Ultimate Classic Rock documented that Kulick performed with the band during the final two songs of their electric set. He played “Lick It Up” and “Rock and Roll All Nite,” delivering a nostalgic moment for fans who remembered his contributions to the band’s classic era. The three-day event also featured an acoustic unplugged set on Friday and additional performances throughout the weekend. These performances showcased KISS’s commitment to creating unique live experiences for their dedicated fanbase.

The reunion-style performances at the Vegas event demonstrate KISS’s willingness to bring together different eras of the band. The band blended current members with former guitarists to create memorable moments. Thayer hinted at the possibility of future similar shows, suggesting KISS is exploring innovative ways to remain active and connected with their audience without relying on traditional touring schedules.
