The special super deluxe edition will feature seven CDs, in addition to a Blu-Ray disc. The complete set consists of a range of sessions, demos, rehearsals, and live tracks, as well as a previously scrapped remix of the album by Glyn Johns and a fresh remaster of the original album.
As part of this, the super deluxe edition will contain 71 previously unheard tracks from the iconic British rock band at the height of their most pivotal era, just in time for them to take their final bow from the stage as their US farewell tour nearly reaches its conclusion.
The new and reissued version of Who Are You is also available in a range of other formats, including either a two-CD or four-LP set, as well as either half-speed or coloured vinyl.
With the album marking the end of an era for the band, with Moon tragically dying just weeks after its release, it has always taken on a certain emotional weight with fans of The Who.
Subsequently, with the upcoming unveiling of the extensive back catalogues from this era, including an entire disc of outtakes from the band’s sessions at Shepperton Studios, in which Moon sings covers of The Beach Boys and The Beatles, the reissue is set to provide a new glimpse into the workings of the star.
Originally, Who Are You rocketed to number two in the US charts and number six in the UK, making it one of The Who’s most iconic, successful, and long-lasting records.
Pre-orders for the Who Are You box set are available from The Who’s website, before it is released on October 31st.
