The Beatles have confirmed that their Anthology project has been restored and remastered for a new global release.
The original Anthology documentary series, which aired in 1995, has been restored and will be released on Disney+ on November 26th, 2025. Additionally, the streaming platform will also air a brand new episode, titled ‘Nine’.
The ninth episode of the documentary series includes “unseen behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George and Ringo coming together between 1994 and 1995 to work on The Anthology and reflecting on their shared life as The Beatles,” according to the press release.
The restoration of the series, which charts their rise from playing The Cavern in Liverpool to becoming a cultural phenomenon on an unprecedented scale, has been overseen by Apple Corps’ production team along with Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films and Park Road Post teams as well as with Giles Martin, who created new audio mixes for most of the featured music.
Martin has also remastered The Beatles Anthology Music Collections, which are set for release on November 21st, along with a brand new addition to the collection, Anthology 4.
The upcoming fourth instalment of The Beatles Anthology Music Collection will include 13 previously unreleased demos, session recordings and other rare recordings alongside new mixes of ‘Free As A Bird’ and ‘Real Love’. Their chart-topping final song, 2023’s ‘Now and Then‘, also appears on the collection.
Per the press materials, ‘Free As A Bird’ and ‘Real Love’ have been “given new life” by original producer Jeff Lynne, who has used de-mixed vocals from John Lennon. The new mix of ‘Free As A Bird’ is out now.
Lastly, The Beatles will release a 25th-anniversary edition of The Beatles Anthology book on October 14th through Apple Corps Ltd and Chronicle Books, which tells the story of The Fab Four through the lenses of the band, as well as those from their inner circle.
