Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash shared an emotional tribute marking the one-year anniversary of his daughter Lucy Bleu Knight’s death. He posted a heartfelt message on Instagram.
The musician expressed his ongoing grief and enduring love for his daughter in a deeply personal post.
“Today marks the one year of your passing Lucy Bleu,” Slash wrote. “I miss you so much every day it physically hurts. I can’t believe the time has gone by so quickly, the heartache feels like it was yesterday.”
In his tribute, the guitarist also shared his hopes for his daughter’s peace.
“I hope there is a lot of happiness where you are,” he continued. “You are laughing your laugh. I love you LBK. Always & forever. #LucyBleuKnight 12.6.98 – 7.19.24”
The anniversary comes as new details about the circumstances surrounding Knight’s death have emerged. These details provide context to the family’s ongoing grief.
Fox News revealed that Lucy Bleu Knight’s death was ruled a suicide caused by hydrogen sulfide toxicity. The 25-year-old had produced the highly toxic gas by mixing chemicals in her bathroom. She had sealed off the space before her passing.
Knight demonstrated remarkable consideration for others even in her final moments. The Los Angeles Times confirmed that she left behind a suicide note specifically warning first responders about the dangerous gas she had created. This showed her concern for their safety.
The tragedy was preceded by a period of mental health struggles. Hindustan Times documented that Knight had been experiencing hallucinations and paranoia. She had been hospitalized twice in the year prior to her death for suicide ideations.
Despite these warning signs, those close to her noted that she had no prior suicide attempts. This made her death particularly shocking to family and friends. The detailed circumstances underscore the complexity of mental health struggles and the devastating impact they can have on families, even those in the public eye.
