Paul Weller has released a fourth track from his highly anticipated album Find El Dorado, featuring Robert Plant.
The new track, titled ‘Clive’s Song’, reflects Weller’s intrigue into folk and blues artists who emerged across Ireland and Britain in the 1960s and early 1970s. The founding member of Incredible String Band, Clive Palmer, wrote ‘Clive’s Song’ for Hamish Imlach, who recorded it on his 1971 album Old Rarity.
Find El Dorado is described as “a bold and personal collection of reinterpretations that shine new light on some of the songs that have shaped Paul Weller”. The album contains specifically chosen covers that shine a light on Weller through his life and his incredible career.
Paul Weller continues an impressive career that is admired by many, including Oasis’s Noel Gallagher. He once called Weller one of the two most “authentic rock stars” he knew, along with Neil Young. Gallagher commented, “It is as real as it gets for those guys, which is why [Weller] would never try and rewrite ‘That’s Entertainment’, or any of those great songs that have formed the fabric of England, if he felt he was faking it. That’s why people hold [them] in the utmost respect, and long may it continue.”
Weller also made headlines recently, after he was seen at a protest in central London for Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap, whose member Mo Chara was facing a terror charge for a series of pro-Palestinian displays in 2024.
Weller currently has no shows lined up for this year, but did complete an extensive tour of the UK in late 2024, which included two concerts at the Eventim Apollo. Find El Dorado also marks Weller’s return to Parlophone Records, which was previously his record label between 2015 and 2019.
His new cover album will be released on July 25th.
