Paul McCartney Announces New Dates on His Got Back Tour, Including First North American Shows in 3 Years

The legendary rocker will play 19 shows between September and November

Paul McCartney is taking his band on the run — er, road!

The legendary rocker, 83, has announced a string of new dates on his acclaimed Got Back Tour, marking his first extensive run of shows in North America since 2022.

McCartney is set to play 19 concerts across 16 different cities, starting in Palm Desert, Calif. on Sept. 29 and ending in Chicago on Nov. 25. His shows in Palm Springs and Albuquerque mark the very first time the musician has ever played there.

“With songs like ‘Hey Jude,’ ‘Live and Let Die,’ ‘Band on the Run,’ ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show and more: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music — dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles songbooks that have formed the soundtracks of our lives,” a press release says.

McCartney launched his Got Back Tour in 2022, and played on around the globe through 2023 and 2024. In February, he played three surprise shows at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, with the 575-person venue selling out almost instantly every time.

On the first night, he played before the intimate crowd for more than two hours — and charged just $50 for a ticket.

“We’ve only had one rehearsal,” he told the audience as he led the crowd in sing-alongs like “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,” anthems like “Let It Be” and “Jet” and ballads like “Blackbird.”

In December, the Beatles legend revealed that his New Year’s resolution was to “finish an album.”

“I’ve been working on a lot of songs, and have had to put it to the side because of the tour,” McCartney wrote on his website. “So, I’m hoping to get back into that and finish up a lot of these songs. So, how’s about that? ‘My New Year’s resolution is to finish a new album!'”

The Got Back tour features his longtime band — Paul “Wix” Wickens on keyboards, Brian Ray on bass/guitar, Rusty Anderson on guitar and Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums, plus the Hot City Horns, who first joined him in 2018.

General on sale for the new dates starts July 18 at 10 a.m. local time here.
