Ozzy Osbourne Drops First Photo of Rehearsals for Final Show Without Tony Iommi

Ozzy Osbourne has shared the first glimpse of rehearsals for the upcoming Back To The Beginning show. The image reveals preparations for what’s being billed as his final bow, as reported in a post on Black Sabbath’s official Instagram.

The band made an official announcement regarding the rehearsal process for the highly anticipated final show. The photo notably shows Ozzy alongside Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. Tony Iommi, on the other hand, was absent from the picture.

‘Rehearsals are underway for Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow,’ the band’s official announcement stated.

The image captures a pivotal moment as the legendary musicians prepare for what could be Ozzy’s last major performance. The absence of Tony Iommi from the rehearsal photo has drawn attention from fans and media alike. Some fans assume he was the one who took the picture.

This farewell concert carries deeper significance beyond just being a final performance. It represents both a homecoming and a charitable endeavor for the Prince of Darkness.

Ozzy’s official website confirmed that the farewell show is scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham. This marks a return to the city where Black Sabbath was formed in 1968. The event will feature not only the original Black Sabbath lineup but also performances by other legendary acts, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Tool.

The concert serves as a major charity event. Cure Parkinson’s reported that all profits will be shared equally between three organizations: Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice. This charitable aspect reflects Ozzy’s commitment to giving back to his hometown community.

‘It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… time for me to give back to the place where I was born,’ Ozzy stated. He emphasized the personal importance of this final performance in Birmingham.

Wikipedia noted that the ‘Back to the Beginning’ concept represents both the final concert for Black Sabbath as a band and Ozzy Osbourne’s last major performance as a solo artist. The event is being positioned as the definitive end of an era that began over five decades ago in the industrial streets of Birmingham.

This farewell show represents the end of an era for one of heavy metal’s most influential figures.
