It’s Official! System of a Down Is Back to Europe with First Tour in Eight Years

System of a Down has officially announced their return to European stages for the first time in eight years. The news broke on their Instagram.

The band revealed details about their upcoming 2026 European tour. The announcement included special guest performers and ticket sale information.

“EUROPE / UK 2026. We’re thrilled to return next summer with special guests Queens Of The Stone Age and Acid Bath,” the band announced.

The statement also provided crucial information for fans eager to secure tickets.

“Sign-up at systemofadown.com for first access to tickets starting Tuesday, 16 Sept at 12PM local time,” they continued. “General on sale begins Friday, 19 Sept at 12PM local. Plans are also underway for a very special event to take place following these shows. Stay tuned…”

This announcement comes after years of anticipation from European fans. They have been waiting for the band’s return to the continent.

The band’s absence from European stages has been particularly notable given their previous strong presence in the region. Architeg Prints reported that System of a Down last performed extensively in Europe in 2017. They played a notable run of 20 shows that included a headline slot at the legendary Download Festival and a performance at Wembley Arena.

Since their last European tour, the band has primarily focused their live performances on the US and South America. Metal Injection noted that their recent North American shows have featured heartfelt tributes to Ozzy Osbourne. This demonstrates the band’s continued connection with their metal roots and fellow artists.

The official announcement was preceded by an intriguing marketing campaign that captured fans’ attention across Europe. Architeg Prints revealed that fans noticed cryptic visual teasers featuring the band’s logo projected on buildings in London, Italy, and Germany. These teasers stirred widespread excitement about their potential European return.

This European tour represents a significant milestone for System of a Down. It marks their most substantial return to international touring in recent years. The combination of their extended absence and the anticipation built through their teaser campaign has amplified excitement among fans across the continent. This sets the stage for what promises to be one of the most anticipated metal tours of 2026.
