A huge tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22nd, is reportedly in the works. This will allegedly occur in Birmingham after a smaller, more intimate funeral.
It was announced by the Osbourne family that ‘The Prince of Darkness’ had died after a long battle with many health problems, including Parkinson’s Disease. Tributes worldwide began pouring in; now, the question becomes how the star will get the send-off he deserves.
Appearing to answer this question, a source revealed to The Sun, “There are conversations about a celebration of his life in Birmingham, the city that meant so much to him. Artists like Yungblud, who was seen by Ozzy as a musician who could carry on the mantle of what he started all those years ago, is expected to have a role in it.”
Yungblud recently released his tribute to the star, writing that he was “truly heartbroken.” The 27-year-old, who also performed ‘Changes’ at the recent Black Sabbath farewell show on July 5th in Birmingham, wrote, “I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own.”
The insider remarked that there is a great demand for a larger funeral event, as fans will want to show their respect alongside artists who may want to join in on celebrating his life. They said, “There are hundreds of big names who will want to pay their respects and celebrate his life and legacy, as well as thousands of fans who would line the streets to say goodbye.”
The same source also revealed that Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, wants a quieter funeral to take place in their own back garden. She is “too frail” for anything else currently.
No cause of death has been revealed for Osbourne. However, it has since been reported that air ambulance paramedics spent two hours trying to save his life at his family home in Buckinghamshire, England.
