Guns N’ Roses Respond to Feud Concerns After Axl Rose Threw Mic to New Drummer

Guns N’ Roses addressed an incident from their recent concert in Buenos Aires. The band issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

During the opening performance of “Welcome to the Jungle” at the October 18 concert at Estadio Huracán in Argentina, frontman Axl Rose threw his microphone toward drummer Isaac Carpenter’s kit. The band has now clarified the circumstances behind the moment.

“During the opening song at our recent Buenos Aires concert, Axl’s in-ear monitor pack had only the percussion in his ears versus his entire mix,” the band explained. “The issue was fixed by our tech team by the third song, and we had a great night. The situation had nothing to do with Isaac Carpenter’s playing, who is top notch and a great drummer.”

A technical malfunction with Rose’s monitor mix, rather than any performance issue, prompted the incident. The band emphasized that Carpenter’s drumming was not a factor in the situation.

Videos from the concert reveal the full extent of Rose’s frustration with the technical difficulties. Rose not only threw his microphone but also kicked the drum kit before walking off stage briefly, as documented by AXS TV. The disruption lasted until the band’s technical team resolved the sound problem, allowing the show to resume without further incident.

Despite the opening disruption, the concert proved to be a memorable evening for fans. The band performed a varied and extensive setlist that included classics such as “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “November Rain,” alongside covers of Black Sabbath’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” and Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door,” per Setlist.fm. The performance demonstrated the band’s commitment to delivering a full show despite the technical challenges encountered at the start.

The Buenos Aires concert is part of Guns N’ Roses’ broader Latin America 2025 tour. Upcoming shows are scheduled across Brazil, including performances in São Paulo, Curitiba, and other major cities, as noted on Guns N’ Roses’ official tour page. The tour continues to draw large crowds and remains one of the most anticipated rock events in the region.

The incident serves as a reminder of the technical complexities involved in large-scale live performances. With the monitor mix issue now resolved, Guns N’ Roses appears ready to continue their tour without similar disruptions. The band’s swift response and transparent communication about what occurred have helped maintain fan goodwill and demonstrate their professionalism in handling unexpected challenges during live performances.
