Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden just posted a video on the band’s next tour and the changes that occurred after drummer Nicko McBrain retired.
Dickinson smiled and said, “Hello folks, this is my tour pass for 2024.” “That’ll get me anywhere in 2024, but 2025 will be special.”
He foreshadowed Iron Maiden’s ambitious future chapter, saying, “We are really pushing the boat out with this tour. Since the tour is sold out, I don’t need to tell anyone. It will be fantastic for those with tickets—which is everyone. We’re doing new things and playing an era-defining setlist.”
Dickinson hinted of touring beyond 2025. It won’t end until 2025. It will continue till 2026 because we can’t access some places in 2025. So there, he said.
Nicko McBrain, who joined Iron Maiden in 1982, performed his last gig in São Paulo, Brazil, last month. McBrain announced his retirement from live touring on December 7, expressing sadness and delight.
“After much consideration, I have decided to step back from the grind of the extensive touring lifestyle,” McBrain said on the band’s website and social media. I will continue to work with Rod Smallwood and Andy Taylor on Iron Maiden projects and focus on personal projects like The British Drum Company, Nicko McBrain’s Drum One, and Rock-N-Roll Ribs.
Simon Dawson will be the band’s live drummer for the Run For Your Lives tour, which begins in Hungary in May 2025 and ends in Germany in July. Fans can expect a breakthrough setlist and performances that commemorate Iron Maiden’s past and usher in a new era.
