AC/DC and Oasis receive same noise complaint about Edinburgh Stadium shows

AC/DC and Oasis have received the very same complaint after playing riotous shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium this summer.

After AC/DC’s August 21st show at the Scottish venue, the council received eight complaints from locals about the noise pollution. They also received eight total complaints after the three Oasis nights at he 70,000 capacity venue across August 8th, 9th, and 12th.

As reported by the BBC, Officers carried out noise measurements at the venue and other city locations and said the “permitted noise level was exceeded” during the AC/DC concert. It was mainly due to the noise of the fireworks set off at the end of both shows. Subsequently, they “recommend that fireworks are not used at future events”.

The show in question marks AC/DC’s first gig in Scotland in a decade. They have performed in ten countries on their European tour before concluding the celebration in Edinburgh.

This is not the first time Oasis have been in trouble with the Edinburgh council. Liam Gallagher has previously called them “a bunch of snakes” following a report that suggested Oasis fans would cause bother to the city as they would be “rowdy” and “intoxicated.”

Responding to the points raised by the Edinburgh city council, Liam wrote on X: “To the Edinburgh council I’ve heard what you said about OASIS fans and quite frankly your attitude fucking stinks I’d leave town that day if I was any of you lot.”

He later added, “What about Edinburgh council, the fucking slags. The amount of money we’re going to bring in, they’ll split with their posh, ugly mates.”

If locals believed their most recent display was overwhelming, those who lived in the area in 2009, the last time Oasis played the venue, would have faced a real shock; their last concert has been confirmed as the most ground-shaking event in the last 20 years at the Scottish venue.

The measurements at the time were taken at a nearby seismic monitoring station and reached heights of 215.06Kw, more than twice as high as Red Hot Chili Peppers’ second-place score of 106.87Kw.
