An individual has been arrested in Birmingham after allegedly robbing flowers from Ozzy Osbourne’s memorial site.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22nd. His family confirmed in a statement, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
Tributes poured in for the Black Sabbath frontman as he was celebrated for being one of the founders of heavy metal and one of the most iconic voices in music.
These tributes carried over into thousands of fans coming to visit Birmingham and pay their respects to Osbourne. On July 31st, people lined the streets for his funeral procession. Osbourne’s funeral was a private ceremony, but fans were allowed to wait outside and line the streets with flowers in honour of the singer.
In recent news, Consequence has reported that a 45-year-old man, Parviz Jafari, has been arrested and charged with theft by the West Midlands Police. The police were alerted that flowers had been taken from Osbourne’s memorial on Bond Street, and Jafari was arrested shortly after.
Jafari was arrested on August 2nd and is expected to appear in court on September 3rd.
It has been confirmed that memorial flowers are currently being preserved by the Central Bid Birmingham and are set to be sent to Osbourne’s family. The date that they will be sent is yet to be confirmed.
In other news, it has recently been confirmed that the cause of death listed on Ozzy Osbourne’s death certificate was a heart attack. It also noted that the singer was suffering from coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s.
