Alice Cooper Refuses to Plan His Final Show, Says He’s Playing Better Than Ever

Alice Cooper recently addressed questions about retirement and farewell tours. He shared his perspective in a statement on the SiriusXM podcast.

The rock legend discussed his approach to continuing his career. He also explained what would determine when he might stop performing.

Cooper expressed his inability to envision such an ending when asked if there was going to be a final farewell tour for him.

“I can’t picture it. I cannot picture a final show. I really can’t because I’ve never even thought about what that would be,” Cooper said.

The veteran performer elaborated on his philosophy regarding his career longevity and current performance standards.

“It’s just it’ll go till it can’t go anymore. I always said I will never go on stage as Alice Cooper if I can’t play him the same way I played him in 1975 with the same energy,” he continued. “In all reality, I’m playing with better energy now than I did then.”

Cooper’s comments suggest he plans to continue performing as long as he can maintain his signature high-energy stage presence.

Cooper’s commitment to ongoing performances is backed by concrete touring plans. These plans demonstrate his dedication to staying active on the rock scene.

AXS TV reported that Cooper has announced an extensive Spring and Summer 2025 U.S. tour as part of his ongoing “Too Close for Comfort” series. The tour kicks off May 2nd in Huntsville, Alabama. This showcases the rock icon’s determination to maintain his rigorous performance schedule.

The upcoming tour includes several high-profile appearances that highlight Cooper’s enduring appeal. Consequence noted that notable stops include the Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 9th, and a May 22nd show in Utica, New York.

Cooper’s summer schedule further reinforces his active touring philosophy. Following a one-off opening for My Chemical Romance in August, Consequence revealed that he will continue with a series of summer headlining shows from August 19th in Salem, Virginia, through August 30th in Memphis, Tennessee.

These extensive touring commitments align perfectly with Cooper’s stated philosophy of continuing to perform as long as he can deliver the same high-energy shows that have defined his career for decades.
